Douglas Fir is most popular as a Christmas tree, but there is a good chance the supports of your home are built out of these extremely durable wood. Douglas Fir is the highest yielding lumber in North America, so it’s no wonder it’s become a cornerstone of American craftsmanship. When used to manufacture solid wood doors, it’s cut into a different-sized sheets and planks. Doors made of Douglas Fir are easy to notice, because the vertical grain pattern is very prominent. These doors look incredible with a lighter stain, like a light brown maple, but can be styled with darker stains like oak or walnut.

Each door is sanded before it’s packaged, so the door arrives ready for staining. Our wood is Factory and Shop grade, so the finished interior wood doors are extremely high quality. There are also multiple styles to choose from depending on the look you’re going for. Something like the Shaker series, for instance, would offer a modern solution to most homes. For the more classic feel, try one of the four-paneled doors.

Most of these doors are at least 1 ¾” in thickness. That gives good insulation for the home, which makes Douglas Fir an excellent for those concerned about lowering their carbon footprint. Before you order any solid wood interior doors, make sure you measure your entire door frame. The doors we ship are pre-hung, so they will require you to replace the entire frame of the door. Installation is simple, but it’s an important detail to keep in mind when you’re measuring your doorway.
